In network marketing, really in all of marketing the secret to continued success and wealth is in one’s database. Our goal is to create a database not only to generate revenue but also to generate data from testing. The tracking of these tests will give us information to further tweak our marketing campaign.
Marketing is a numbers game. In fact, marketing is a testing of numbers game. We continually try to improve out campaigns and one major way of doing that is by testing. The more data (people) we have to run a test through the better. One out of ten, could just be a fluke but 100 out of 1,000, now we are working with serious data.
Furthermore there are few things more unpredictable than people. Out database in network marketing is made up of people. In marketing to our database we are trying to get our prospects to some call to action, whether that is a phone call, a reply to a questionnaire or to buy something, our business is predicated on action.
So what “copy” works and doesn’t work is of major concern to us as network marketers. We continually run tests to see if we can get an “action” from our database. If our database is not responding to one type of message, we try another and another etc.
From the dollar standpoint, we never really know when the “right time” is for our database to purchase. It may take 1 day or 3 months to get our database to a call to action. Either way we are there to help fill the need of our prospect. That is why our database is the goldmine. Because when the numbers are in our favor it doesn’t matter if they purchase it is only a matter of when.
Once a person buys from a source and is happy with the purchase, they tend to buy again and again. So each time we can present our database with information that fills a need, want or desire, we are not only keeping our customers happy, but our bottom line as well.
Now the best part about our database is that we now have the technology to communicate with them as often as we like through email. Of course the balance is that they can opt out of our database at anytime as well. But it is all good, we are here to help fill the desires of our database, not ours, so if the information is not right for them by all means opt out and make room for someone who is interested.
All successful business owners know that the goldmine lies within the database of happy customers in any business. The “trick” then is to build a system of continually feeding our database information to keep them happy and their happiness in turn leads to additional sales, the very sales and income which in turn keeps’ our business happy.
